Well, to those of you who are familiar with the works of Bill Watterson, the “Very Sorry Song” means you got to hit me with a Calvinball. I just hope none of you can throw very far. Well, with that little bit of childhood nostalgia out of the way, I’ve got to apologize for the lack of posts in the last few days. It’s been a rather hectic weekend, including but not limited to: boat-building, tree-trimming, chicken-pen repair, and sundry other projects. Unfortunately, the mild flurry of activity means that I didn’t get nearly as much writing done this week as I would like.
Time to make up for it. With any luck, I’ll have another several thousand words done on Breaking Empire by the end of the week, which would likely mean that we will have entered the “actiony” part of the book. I’m also hoping to have finished the newest “Hunter” story, this one entitled “Make a Monkey out of Me”. As the title states, it involves monkeys. (Imagine that)
The other interesting bit of news is that Every Blade of Grass should be out of it’s 5th edit stage sometime this next week. (assuming my editors meet their deadline or secondary deadline) If that happens, I may be sending it to an agent sometime in the next month or so. Cue the rejection-proof armor, I hope I don’t need it.
On the blog side of things, I’ll be working on the next post in the “WorldBuilding” series and should have it up by tomorrow or the next day. Not sure there, but it WILL happen sometime soon. Please be patient and don’t start hunting for my address in order to “motivate” me. I’m motivated enough, believe me.
Last but not least, I’m hoping to send “Hunter – Make a Monkey out of Me” to the sci-fi magazine Clarkesworld sometime soon, so please cross your fingers for me, would you?
